Artists Statement In the delicate and versatile medium of polymer clay, I find my canvas for bringing dreams to life. My artistic journey is an exploration of the boundless possibilities that this unique material offers, a journey where imagination and craftsmanship converge to breathe life into form and fantasy. Polymer clay, with its malleability and vibrant color palette, becomes the very substance of my creative spirit. It is a medium that allows me to translate the fantastical visions of my mind into tangible, three-dimensional sculptures. Through the careful manipulation of shape, texture, and color, I aim to transcend the limitations of this earthly realm and transport viewers into the realms of imagination. Many of my sculptures blend the unique creatures of fantasy, such as dragons and faeries, with real-world concerns such as education, diversity, and love. I delve into the realms of fantasy, myth, and symbolism. My sculptures are a fusion of reality and imagination, blending the familiar with the fantastical. Each piece carries its own narrative, a story waiting to be discovered by those who are willing to engage with it. I invite viewers to embark on a journey of exploration and interpretation, to see not just the physical form but also the emotions, stories, and dreams that lie beneath the surface. In the world of polymer clay sculpting, I have found a medium that allows me to bridge the realms of the tangible and the intangible. It enables me to transcend the boundaries of ordinary existence and venture into the extraordinary. Through my sculptures, I hope to share a sense of wonder, spark the imagination, and invite viewers to join me in exploring the limitless horizons of human creativity. I’ve been sculpting now for about three years, and I’ve been blessed to be able to create sculptures that help those in my LGBTQ+ community show their pride, help the people I love believe in the fantastical and even give back to my community. I’ve taken on projects like creating Book Wyrms for second graders as prizes for reading their books in school, and abandoning small sculptures for others to find around the Colorado Springs/Manitou area (and anywhere else I go). Sculpting with polymer clay is not just an artistic endeavor; it is a manifestation of my deepest passions and an invitation to all to join me on this artistic odyssey, where dreams take form, and the boundaries of reality are reshaped through the alchemy of creativity.
